ABOUT US A paradise found in the wilderness of nature, Finca Punta Ayampe is a dream come true for any traveler lucky enough to experience the surfing, whale watching and different tours that cover land, sea and culture of the zone. Visit the peace of a small fishing / surfing village and a solitary stretch of white-sand beach overlooking the Pacific; where international travelers can meet with Ecuador's culture and still unwind in a fun atmosphere isolated in surroundings as wild as the coast and mountains of Manabí.
The conception of this paradise, came true in hands of Aldo Rocco Paz at the beginning of 2001. Having for many years run the most legendary and hottest night spot in Quito (Ecuador•s capital city), Aldo retreated to what was then the unspoiled peace of a small fishing/surfing village called Montañita in northern Guayas to run a local hot spot.
However, as once tranquil Montañita slowly grew in popularity, the natural surroundings got pushed further back. In search of a place where international travelers could meet and unwind in a fun atmosphere yet still be isolated in surroundings as wild and beautiful as the coast and mountains of Manabí, Aldo founded Finca Punta Ayampe. Wild and isolated yet the perfect place to mingle, Finca Punta Ayampe is a dream come true for Aldo and for any traveler lucky enough to experience it. THE HOTEL.THE HOTEL. Perched on a green hillside, hidden amongst tropical vegetation and overlooking the sea, sits Finca Punta Ayampe. The lodge combines all of the modern conveniences of a first-class hotel and a homey, rustic environment. There are several cabins designed with simplistic comfort and sustainability in mind.

Whale Watching Tours
(from May to September)
The sun might hide behind the clouds from time to time trough out May to September, but that is certainly not reason to choose a less spectacular destination. In fact, many tourists wait until this time of the year to come and check out some of the world's most spectacular whale watching. As about 2,500 humpback whales travel 16,000 km looking for warm waters, fleeing from the low temperatures of the southern part of the continent (Chile) to Ecuador and mate.
As the hot temperatures of the Pacific Ocean bathes the Ecuadorian coasts, it creates an ideal environment for mating and conception of the humpback whales at the coast of Manabí. The depth of the ocean is idyllic not far from the coast, allowing whale watching opportunities with a short boat ride from the shore.
Starting at US$30 per person, the tours are well worth the expenditure as it will most likely be the only time in your life you will come close enough to a whale as to touch it (well, almost).
